After the Ceremony of National Science and Technology Awards, Vice-Premier Liu Yandong met with and granted medals to winners of the International S&T Cooperation Award.

They are Katharina Kohse Höinghaus, a German expert in combustion; John Elmer Kutzbach, a U.S. expert in atmospheric simulation; Christopher Gordon Groves, a U.S. expert in geology; Jean Raymond Abrial, a French computer scientist; Werner Alfred Hufenbach, a German scientist of lightweight engineering; and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT).

Since 1995, 106 foreign experts and 3 international organizations have won the award.
